Hi 5N. Ms. Julie Strait has let us know that because of the election, the athletics interhouse that was supposed to be held this Friday, 30 OCT, will be postponed. We think it will take place in January sometime but we won't know until the future.
Do you know how to use a protractor?
Do you know many degrees there are in a triangle?
Do you know your angels vocabulary?
Did you notice how I misspelled "angles" in the question above?
What's wrong with the above picture? Can you make a rule so that this never happens to you?
If you like to sing and are in Grade 3, 4 or 5 then you can join the choir!

You are a crew member on one of Columbus' ships (Santa Maria, Pinta or Nina). You have been on the ship for more than 10 weeks. the date is now October 8, 1492 and you set sail on August 3, 1492. You are feeling VERY homesick. Perhaps you are sick (scurvy, seasickness), hungry, thirsty, fed up of your fellow crew members, fed up with Columbus' promises, scared of what is happening/what might happen.
Write a letter home saying how you feel.
Remember the 5 elements of letter writing:
People who are not in school, please look at the letters we wrote today. We focussed on VOICE.
The following is an extract from Columbus' journal.
Wednesday, 10 October 1492
I held course to the WSW, running 7½ knots, and at times 9 knots, and for a while 5¼ knots. Between day and night I made 177 miles. I told the crew 132 miles, but they could stand it no longer. They grumbled and complained of the long voyage, and I reproached them for their lack of spirit, telling them that, for better or worse, they had to complete the enterprise on which the Catholic Sovereigns had sent them. I cheered them on as best I could, telling them of all the honors and rewards they were about to receive. I also told the men that it was useless to complain, for I had started out to find the Indies and would continue until I had accomplished that mission, with the help of Our Lord.

We raised 563,000 tsh at the bake sale this morning! We also have some donations to add to that, so the total will be even higher! That will pay for several cats to be vaccinated and neutered by Dr Joe.
Many thanks to everyone who helped and bought cakes! Well done to the G5N students who initiated the action and to all Roots and Shoots members (and our parents) who contributed items to sell.
